What a gem for English language learner (ELL) teachers and ALL educators. This website offers research-based information on bilingual activities and advice for educators and families of ELL learners.

Support for reading in the content areas?  πŸŒ
Sure! In the navigation bar, click on “Teaching ELLs” and click on “literacy instruction”. Here you will find videos of teachers working with students (k-12) using various instructional methods on language development.  Also under this tab is “Language & Vocabulary Instruction” where you will find more instructional videos, research, and articles. I typed in the search bar, “reading in the content area” and found that reading comprehension should be the focus in every content area. There are articles here as well.

Ease of navigation? πŸ‘€ Look at these eyes!
The site is easily navigable. The menu bar never disappears and the headings are bold blue. The crisp white background allows your eyes to move without distraction.  The site is visually clean and not cluttered.

Availability of classroom resources? πŸ“š
Under the “School Support” tab, you will find various classroom resources from placement and identification to programs of instruction and working with EC, ELL students.  Under each of these subheadings are videos, articles, and blog posts. There is definitely an availability of classroom resources.

Usability for intended audience: students, parents, teachers, or a combination? πŸ–§
This website is geared toward teachers, parents, and administrators.  As a matter of fact, there are tabs labeled “For Families” and “Audience”.  Can you say usability?

This is a great website! Even if you are not an ELL teacher, the strategies shown can be utilized in any classroom!
